We are currently recruiting for two Data Analysts (interns; unpaid).

JOB DETAILS

Re-Action (UK) is seeking two Data Analyst interns who will contribute to the 2012 IHP+Results Monitoring Process through:

1) Contributing to a process of qualitative interviews

2) Assessing, and refining data collected from 36 of the IHP+ signatories (for more information on the IHP+Results and the 21012 data collection http://ihpresults.net/2012monitoring/).

IHP+Results is an independent consortium of research and advocacy organizations, lead by Re-Action (UK), mandated to provide an annual assessment of the results of the International Health Partnership (IHP+).

The intern will be involved in diverse and interesting aspects of the monitoring process but most importantly contribute to research, data collection and processing. It is anticipated that his/her responsibilities will include providing support in the following areas, plus other work that may be required to ensure the smooth and successful implementation of the 2012 monitoring process:

Qualitative survey

  • Make logistical arrangements for 36 one-hour interviews to be completed by end June 2012
  • Undertake and write up a number of one-hour interviews (as required)

Data analysis

  • Verify information, operate data entry devices and prepare periodic updates
  • Review data and flag errors using standard procedures
  • Prepare draft correspondence with survey participants
  • Collaborate with IHP+Results team to ensure common/shared understanding of issues
  • Update and validate portal information
  • Support continuous data research, gathering and processing.

Qualifications & Skills

  • A master’s degree (may still be currently enrolled) in a related discipline (ideally health, global health, health policy)

The following knowledge, skills and experience are essential:

  • Experience tracking and managing multiple sources of data (preferred)
  • Experience working with data, in particular data cleaning
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel (and ideally further statistics programmes, e.g. SPSS)
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to work accurately with data
  • Strong analytical, and computer skills
  • Strong research and quantitative skills
  • Ability to work alone and unsupervised if required
  • Knowledge of foreign languages, in particular French

Hours: Flexible, but a minimum of 20 hours/week

Salary: Unpaid; Travel (zones 1-2) and lunch expenses only

Length/Availability: 3-4 months

Start date: ideally from 16th April
